Clocked In — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 21, 2026
Clocked In is a simple clock-in and timesheet app for hourly workers, tradespeople, and freelancers. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.
TL;DR
Clocked In is a local-first app. Your time entries, tasks, and notes are stored only on your device. We do not run servers, we do not collect analytics, and you can use every feature of the app without signing in. The only time data leaves your device is if you choose to send it — by exporting a PDF or image, sharing through your phone's text message, email, or share sheet, or by optionally signing in with Apple to keep your Pro subscription active across devices (described below).
What data the app stores on your device
- Time entries: clock-in time, clock-out time, duration, and the task description you entered.
- App preferences: theme behavior and default hourly wage.
All of the above is stored in your device's local storage (on iOS and Android, this is the app sandbox). Uninstalling the app removes all of this data.
Data we do NOT collect
- No required user accounts — the app works fully without signing in (Apple Sign-In is optional, see below).
- No telemetry, crash reporting, or analytics — we don't track how you use the app.
- No advertising identifiers, no ad tracking, no third-party ad SDKs.
- No location tracking — Clocked In does not request or use your location.
- No contacts, photos, or device file access beyond what the system share sheet requires when you tap Export.
Optional Sign in with Apple
You can optionally sign in with Apple from the Settings screen. This is not required to use any feature of the app, including Pro. When you sign in:
- We store the opaque user identifier that Apple returns (a string like
000123.abc…). We do not store, transmit, or see your name or email — Apple keeps both.
- We send that identifier to RevenueCat as your subscription identity so that your Pro entitlement automatically restores on any other device you sign in to with the same Apple ID, without you having to tap "Restore Purchases."
- The identifier is namespaced to our developer team — it cannot be used to look you up in any other app.
- Signing out from Settings deletes the identifier from your device and tells RevenueCat to forget the association.
Subscription and payment processing
Clocked In Pro is a paid subscription delivered through the Apple App Store (on iOS) and Google Play (on Android). When you subscribe:
- Apple or Google processes your payment per their own terms — we never see your payment details. Apple's and Google's privacy policies govern that transaction.
- RevenueCat is our subscription infrastructure provider. The app sends RevenueCat an anonymous user identifier and your subscription status (active / expired / plan tier) so we can unlock paid features. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, time entries, or any other personal data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current billing period; after that, paid features lock until you re-subscribe. Your local time entries are never deleted.
Exporting and sharing
When you export a PDF or JPEG, or send your timesheet via text or email, that action uses your device's system share sheet, messages app, or mail client. The data goes wherever you send it — we don't see it and we don't keep a copy.
Children
Clocked In is a professional tool intended for adults tracking their work hours. It is not directed at children under 13.
